According to a new study, nearly 50% of adults in the US over the age of 30 are suffering from periodontal disease. The study was carried out by a team of researchers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Several other findings of importance included the fact that certain groups were affected more than the others. These groups included smokers, Mexican-Americans, people who lived in poor conditions, and individuals with less than a high school education.
