RIVERVIEW, MI, March 28, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Mehul Patel, Riverview dentist, is happy to be using the Spectra Laser to help him and his staff find decay that can be hidden in teeth. Locating hidden decay before it destroys the tooth structure from the inside out is a major goal of modern dentistry.
"I am very happy that our practice is able to offer this state-of-the-art equipment for our patients. We know they value healthy and attractive teeth as much as we do. In order to maintain healthy teeth, the earlier we catch any sign of decay the better. This means less discomfort and fewer costs for the patients as well," said Dr. Patel, dentist from Trenton.
Diagnosing cavities beneath the hard surfaces of a tooth is more challenging because the disease process can start through microscopic defects in the hard surface enamel and can spread into the softer tooth structure beneath the surface. X-rays cannot detect the sub-surface decay, especially when the cavity is in the early stages. The Spectra Laser is able to monitor the areas below the hard surfaces so treatment for decay can start as soon as possible before more of the tooth is destroyed.
