COLOGNE, Germany: Materialise Dental has extended its best-selling guided implant system and now provides new digital solutions for dental laboratories in particular. Using the new SimPlant software, laboratories can offer additional services to dental practices, as it features an optimised CAD/CAM interface.

The new solution provides an all-digital workflow for prosthetic and implant planning, quality guides and Immediate Smile prostheses. The CAD/CAM-ready system delivers digital precision prostheses and thus supports collaboration between the dentist and the laboratory.

“We are aiming especially at dental laboratories outside of Germany. Therefore, the IDS is a very good opportunity to present the SimPlant to dental technicians from various countries,” said Dr Raquel Neumann, general manager for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. “We are offering a tool, with which these laboratories can position themselves and acquire new clients through guided surgery,” she added.

In addition, with SimPlant GO, which was introduced last year already, the company is offering an inexpensive and easy-to-use version for beginners in implant planning. Combined with surgery using the SurgiGuide drill guides, it navigates users quickly and safely through computer-guided implantology.

“The interest in digital workflow is generally very big. Both dentists and dental technicians are interested in minimising intermediate steps, optimising their processes. With SimPlant, we are offering a good solution that also adds to patient communication through visualisation of individual cases,” Neumann said.

Visitors at the IDS can learn more about the new software at the company’s stand. Until 16 March, Materialise is doing daily product demonstrations in Hall 11.2 at Booth K31.
