Job Description :
To assist the dentist/hygienist in all clinical procedures. Operate within the remit of the Practice Manual. To assist in planning appointments to avoid delaying both clinicians. Understand the relevance of diaries being balanced and maintained correctly enabling clinicians to reach vital financial targets, whilst allowing enough time for treatments and emergencies. Set up treatment rooms at beginning of the day, collection all required information, radiography, medical profiles etc. To take all reasonable measures to ensure patient comfort. To make certain that an efficient link with the dental laboratory is upheld to prevent any delays in the dispatch and receipt of work. To follow Health and Safety codes in all aspects including handling/taking x-rays, mercury handling, resuscitation, emergency procedures and fire drill. Check compressor, filters XLA instruments and record findings.
Job Qualification:
Full and comprehensive training to be provided in order to achieve Nationally Recognized Qualifications including an NVQ level 2 in Dental Nursing, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills as appropriate. Relevant experience of working in a general dental practice, hospital or community service. Computer literacy. Effective communication with people, both work colleagues and the general public. NEBN certificate for Dental Nurses (willingness to attend weekly course to achieve qualification).
